A girl once asked me why Christianity is so important to me.
I could give her many explanations and go on with details... but the best answer for me so far is, "Because God is so real to me."
I was looking for a church to go to here in Bordeaux, and the one church I found is about 1 hour's distance away from where I stay, made worse due to the fact that I have to depend on public transports to move around. This means taking a bus, switch to a tram, then switch to another bus before I can reach the church. Worse thing is, they are not as frequent on Sundays!
But somehow, I figured that I should pay a visit to the church and just look around, seeing that I have a whole day to spare. Today's the last day before my class starts by the way.
So off I go taking a bus to the tram stop. The tram arrives after a long wait, it's not usually like this but there was a demonstration by some group of workers today. Well, this is actually a common thing here in France, so we just have to deal with the inconveniences. As trams today are not as frequent as usual, all trams are always jam-packed like sardines. People just can't afford to wait for the next tram, so everyone just push their way in, even if it means squeezing the breathe out of another person.
But one thing really respectable about them is that they allow people to get off the tram first before making their way in! Well, that's actually how it's suppose to be done but then as I think of the LRTs in Kuala Lumpur...
So there I was in the tram, waiting for my stop. I swear that was the longest tram ride I have ever had eventhough I have been to the same place many times before this; it just felt that way! Mainly because I had to bear with the squeezing, the pushing and the smell all around me! Turn left smell some uncle's hair, turn right smell some tall French guy's armpit, look in front smell some African who perhaps did not have a shower for a couple of days! Oh the horror!
Some random French dude: (to me) You can hold on to that hairy arm of his if you want. *points to his friend* hahaha
Getting out of the tram, I walked all the way to the church as I wasn't familiar with the bus routes in this area. It didn't look far, according to Google Map, and I could use a little walk around here. But it is only after walking for about 30 minutes that I reached that church. I hate it when Google Map makes places look near to each other.
As I looked at the announcement board outside the church, it is written that they have a prayer meeting at 7.30pm. So I thought to myself, perhaps I could stay around and see how it's like in this church. It was 5pm. There is a shopping complex nearby where I can spend my time until then. So I hanged around there and bought myself a table lamp, a standing lamp and a wall clock.
On my way to the shopping complex, I saw this:

| aka Christine Road, or Jalan Christine |
This sign reminds me of a friend who studied in the same preparatory course when I was in Tours.
Wonder when can I have my "Rue LeongFM"? Hahaha ;p
I came back to the church and joined the prayer meeting until 9pm. It feels so good to come back to the home of the Lord. =)
It was already late at night, and seeing that I depend on public transports to move around, I was worried that I couldn't get back home that night. But then an uncle who greeted me at the church told me that there's one lady who lives near my place and that she could offer me a ride home. Quite segan to kacau that auntie but it's not like I have any choice then. So I hopped on her car and she gave me a ride home.
A very friendly lady she was, we talked a lot in the car and she even offered to fetch me along to church every Sunday! No more multiple bus rides, jam-packed trams and long walks down to the church! Yay!
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:13
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. - Philipians 4: 19
Surely God has sent her for me. I believe that God will provide you if you are willing to draw closer to Him. After all, God can make all things possible if you believe in Him! =)
Such a nice and kind lady.
Lady: *takes down my handphone number* And what's your name?
Me: Leong. And yours?
Lady: Christine.
Nice one, God! =D

Wau. When all the coincidences and chances that seemed impossible come together, that's miracle. then you know god is there.
It's really inspiring how go to church anyway even if its so troublesome then spend hours waiting for the prayers time to start and at the end of the day, you're kinda "rewarded" wif convenience to visit that sacred land every week..
i can imagine some pastors talking about this story in a church. And some1 who actually knows u sit in the church and feel like, "i know tat guy i know tat guy. he's my fren. i read it at his blog!" it's so cool.
